=0 Where'd that saddle come from?

My "barn lady" is keeping her cats in crates over the 4th, and Chase was just fine with the crates until one of them hissed at him...

Chase is a 4yr old appendix QH gelding... Right now we're working on counter-cantering, keeping the shoulder up at a lope and getting a headset. whew.

So AQHA has this junior journalist position for youth members, in which the "JJ" goes to and reports on the AQHYA World Show in Fort Worth, TX. They write articles that appear on the AQHA website, and I think in the QJournal, too. Also they are on the coverage of America's Horse, which plays on TVG and maybe ESPN. Only three teens across the nation are chosen. So I applied, having to fill out a questionnaire and write a mock article. Well, they called me back -- I was thrilled they did at least that! Then they interviewed me in a conference call, which was kind of nervewrecking. Because I was so nervous, I didn't think I was going to get it. But then they called me back and chose me as one of the three!!! Isn't that amazing? I'm so excited, I don't know what to do. Well, what I did do was go out and buy Lucchese boots (hot). I'd also love to learn how to get big Texas hair, haha. But I'm so thrilled... The other two JJs are girls from Indiana and Texas, and they already found me on MySpace... lol

It's from August 4th to the 12th. Wish me luck!

ir·re·gard·less
adv. Nonstandard
Definition: Regardless.

[Probably blend of irrespective, and regardless.]

Usage Note: Irregardless is a word that many mistakenly believe to be correct usage in formal style, when in fact it is used chiefly in nonstandard speech or casual writing. Coined in the United States in the early 20th century, it has met with a blizzard of condemnation for being an improper yoking of irrespective and regardless and for the logical absurdity of combining the negative ir- prefix and -less suffix in a single term. Although one might reasonably argue that it is no different from words with redundant affixes like debone and unravel, it has been considered a blunder for decades and will probably continue to be so.

Thank you NBC for that insight.

By the way, majorly is not a word.

My journal is now Friends Only. This isn't permament, and it's not like I write about anything important, it's just nice to control who reads it (to some extent).

My previous entries are staying public.

So...

If you want to be added, comment, and I may or may not add you.

-EDIT- If you're on my friends list, I'm probably going to keep you!!!! If I didn't want you reading my journal, I would've taken you off, right? (Or if you don't list me as a friend.)

If I played my German tapes on repeat while I slept, would I know German better? o.O

Maybe I should record AP US History terms and do that.

Yesterday I spent the day in Portland
-Ate at a French restaurant (had a quiche)
-Nordstroms, didn't buy anything
-Abercrombie and Fitch, didn't buy anything
-Comic book convention... Yes, I know, I went with Ellie. Although I felt really out of place, it wasn't that bad. Except that people who read comic books are - in general - smelly, so imagine them all in a crowded, hot room; and some of the "art" was just gross. But Ellie met some of her favorite artists, so I'm glad.
-Portland Outdoor Store. I loved it. My mommy is going to buy some Luchese cowboy boots. It made me sad that I can't wear cowboy boots, I have a high instep.
-Desert at a cafe, I had tiramisu. By the way, I think Kelly said that tiramisu is Japanese. No, it's Italian.
-Powell's bookstore. I got Barry Lydon by Thackery and The Garden of Evil by Bram Stoker, it was the only non-Dracula book they had by him. Bummer.
-Anthropologie, didn't buy anything, but I was glad to know where the store is in Portland.

Today
-Watched Breakfast at Tiffany's, I was thinking she'd be in more glamourous places with all her beautiful clothes.
-Knitted an "ear warmer" for Chase. It's cute, and he'll be the only horse in the barn with warm ears.
-Homework.

Ya know what I did this evening?

So, I don't feel like actually reading The Scarlet Letter, so I went to SparkNotes.com, searched for SL and clicked on "Chapter 13".

After reading a paragraph, I was like, "Wow, SparkNotes has much more complicated wording -- and it's a lot longer." -continues reading- "It sounds like the summerizer must really love this book..." -continues reading- ...

I must've read about five paragraphs before realizing I was actually reading the book. SparkNotes has it on their website.

Blah.

If you're pissed off at me for some reason, just tell me.

If you don't want to comment back with it on LJ, e-mail, call, or meet me, or something.

Because I'm sick of people being passive agressive.

It's not like I ever do anything, anyway.

Plans [24 Sep 2005|10:53am]
[ mood | happy ]

Today:
- Go to Supercuts to buy some Redken conditioner.
- Supercuts happens to be right beside Starbucks, so go buy a frap and ::crosses fingers:: see the hottie that works there.
- Wow, the 76 station is right there, and Martin Glass is across the street. I think I'll hit up my padre for some gas money and fill up the 'Burban.
- Go to Booster Bash. I would wear a tank, but I want to ride the mechanical bull. Heck yes. Oh, and I'm going to sit around at the mock trial booth for extra credit.
- Then... maybe see a movie? Anyone up for The Exorcism of Emily Rose or Corpse Bride? Maybe something else?
- Oh yeah, I have a horsie to take care of. He must feel neglected.

Tomorrow:
- BIRTHDAY!
- Probably go to church.
- Pirates of Penzance at 2:30. If you're going, try get seats around row C where we'll be.
- Gustav's (restaurant).
- Home, get presents, etc.
- Horse stuff.
- Homework

Going to Sherry's last night made my evening so much better.

I want to go shopping. Too bad the malls usually close at 6pm on Sunday.

hmm. What color shall I paint my toes?

Pink, purple, red... I think I have yellow somewhere, but that's kinda blah.

hum.

Well, my toes have been pink for the last four months, and if I chose pink I'd then have to decide what shade...

hum.

ooh, black.

Well... nah.
